Stud farm
The agricultural estate in Krumstedt has been under the ownership of the Ritters family for almost 200 years. Since the very beginning the Holstein horse has dominated the stable yard scene.
Up to the end of the last century the Holstein horse played an important role in working the fields and was bred specifically as a work horse. Work horses became largely redundant with increased technologisation. Jens Ritters' grandfather (Willi Ritters) did not want to part from his dear friends, however, so he decided to found a sport horse stud farm.
The Ritters' success story began with the mare Virginia by Frivol × Marder from the 730 B blood line. After Hans-Werner Ritters became Junior European Showjumping champion with the mare, the family laid the foundation stone for sport horse breeding.
